Fredrik André, building from Bergen, NO.

I'm a developer who likes the part of a system where data has to come in, be checked, and end up somewhere useful - whether it starts on a serial port, a web page, or a chat stream. Most of my work is in Python and TypeScript.

Current focus

Day-to-day, I build calibration and service software for SAIV's ocean CTD instruments: calibration apps, a shared serial-instrument library, and bench automation (SAIV Calibration Suite). On the side, a self-hosted AI scraping platform (SmartScrape) and a local-first desktop Twitch bot (TwitchBot). This site, with its private hub on Cloudflare Workers and D1, is one of mine too.

Stack I reach for

  • Python for instruments, serial protocols, calibration maths, and data pipelines.
  • TypeScript + React + Next.js + Tailwind for everything user-facing.
  • Electron + SQLite for desktop applications.
  • Postgres, Redis, and Docker for services that need to stay up.
  • Cloudflare (Workers, D1, Access) for hosting.

How I work

  • Simulators, recorded captures, and tests first, so code is exercised long before it touches real hardware.
  • Honest status labels: a project is called production only when it is used for real.
  • AI coding agents as a tool, with the specs, review, and test gates kept in my hands.
